I should be accustomed to this, i really should. seventeen years should be enough to... DEAL with...the initial trauma, the lingering effects, the...guilt

every year. Damn him. I as well, but I'm beyond that point already, aren't i? so many things Ive done to deserve... his death, so many trials, and god, Wright... the price of my cowardice almost paid by the one person who

Damn that succubus.

So much for catharsis. The dream catcher won't help me tongiht.

((OOC: Because it's the night of the anniversary of his father's murder, and because it's been a whopping, like, 3 days since I traumatized him. Edgeworth has now passed out gone to bed so he isn't likely to be replying to anything tonight. Feel free to ping him all you want. <3 This entry will probably be 'locked' once he regains consciousness in the morning, and comments might not be replied to.))

((OOC: Entry is now LOCKED to only the people who already commented as of 5:40 the next day. Edgeworth returned from a day of trying to drown his sorrows in weekend work and only just realized what he did the night before. If anyone still wants to comment feel free to backdate to this morning/last night. <3))

It's been about fourteen years.

If she killed me, then that would have allowed Seles to inherit my position as the Chosen, since she was the next blood relative of the previous Chosen...our father.

So everyone thinks.

The Chosen...is essentially the one who would save their world when it is in decline. There is fame and something of a celebrity status attached to the position. Aside from that, the Chosen has a lot of power in the government.

I'm really not sure what she thought would come of passing that title to Seles, although I doubt she realized what the end result would have been.

Death. The journey to save the world ends with the Chosen sacrificing themselves.

Then again, I'm also sure she didn't know that the true point of the entire religion was for Mithos to find a new vessel for his sister's soul, in order to revive her. So had Seles become the Chosen and completed her journey (and assuming she didn't die during it), her spirit would have died, and Mithos would have attempted to use her body for that purpose. More than likely, it would have failed as every other attempt made in the last four thousand years had, and then the process would have repeated with another Chosen.

So she did. She really only had one chance, I suppose...when my mother was caught in her line of fire, she was restrained almost immediately.

She was executed, yes. Seles has been at the Abbey ever since.

She's well aware.
