samuraiprosecutor | 2: Alternate reality

Tonight, I had a disturbing conversation over at that strange community. Many of the members make claims of being from alternate worlds or realities. The possibilities, if true, would be staggering, and there is some basis in current scientific thinking that would allow for such theories. This conversation brought up a claim that puts a sinister spin on it all.

The repercussions of this, if it's somehow true...I can't begin to comprehend the why and how. I refuse to believe anyone in such a world would have any controlling influence on my life, but having my decisions and experiences subject to scrutiny, exploited for entertainment...

It's a decidely uncomfortable thought.

The worst part is that some part of me wants to know. There's some morbid curiousity that would be served by actively looking for this content, but I am absolutely certain I'd be horrified by the majority of it.

More and more I find myself giving credence to the possibility of these other worlds. I've been invited by

maraihi to visit the zoo on one of them, so perhaps I'll have my answer soon. An answer that will merely lead to more questions, but it would be a start.

maraihi seems an interesting person with a lot of experience in the workings of

dramadramaduck and information about its members. I'm looking for answers. If I happen to obtain them by going to a zoo ~~which is possibly in a parallel universe~~ and meeting an interesting person and their family, I see no problem with that.

I am guessing that picture is tame compared to some of what we might find if we went looking.

I still don't know that I fully believe any of this, but there have already been things I can't explain. I'm hoping this visit might at least give me a better idea of what we're actually dealing with.

Aside from the events of the virus, and the information I've been given about this picture, have you gathered any other evidence of the strange circumstances surrounding that community?

No. But I trust what others have told me... Witwicky and Ms. Banes, who're in serious trouble, and Belle, who... might be in trouble. They're not from our world. They can't be... right?

That Witwicky person and

know_sacrifice are in trouble? What kind of trouble? I don't believe I know Belle...

A young French lady, from what I've gathered... I don't know that she's in trouble for sure, but last I heard, she was going horse-back riding through a forest full of wolves.

On horse-back? No cars on her world, I take it? How long ago was this? And why would she do something so dangerous?

Her father is missing.

Were there no authorities for her to contact or were they of no use? That seems like a foolhardy course of action, regardless of the reason.

Apparently, nobody in her town seems interested in helping her out because she denied a marriage proposal, or something like that...

What kind of town does she live in?!

A backwards one, it would seem. Some guy tried to force her into marriage.

...Horse-back, forced marriage...a different time period? Or just another world with entirely different rules. I wonder how she's doing.

You're asking the wrong person, Edgeworth. I mean, I've pretty much accepted that I'm either insane or there really are other worlds out there, but that doesn't make me an expert.

I wonder how she's doing, too... I'll feel terrible if something happens.

No one seems to really know what's going on around here. It's like the blind are leading the blind ~~are leading the moronic~~. But if you are insane, you have company, myself included. There are too many things I can't explain in any other way.

It was before I knew anything about the forest and the wolves, but I told her... if she was worried, she should go looking for him.
