Eyes: Grey until his transformation, now pale pink
Monster: Vampire
Description: Edgeworth is a bit of an odd duck by most people’s standards. He’s got the shoulders of a linebacker and the grooming habits of a particularly fastidious model. His wardrobe is exquisitely tailored, flamboyant, and takes a bit too much inspiration from the Victorian era. He’s American, but his accent is strangely muddled, with strong hints of German and maybe a few other accents of European origin mixed in. In general he’s fairly soft-spoken. However, he’s a natural orator and professional debater, which people will quickly find out if they get him riled up. Stoicism is his middle name. Smiles are rare and usually hard-earned.
Scars and Other Physical Attributes: In May of 2015 (155) Edgeworth was one of the many monsters to be captured and tortured by an angry mob of Rotan citizens (Pitchforks and Salt event). In retaliation for an incident of insubordination, he was stripped of clothing from the waist up and staked out under the rising sun, resulting in first to third degree burns over most of his exposed skin. The worst areas, such as his cheeks and shoulders, left visible scarring. At the same time he was bound with silver-laced shackles which left deep wounds, reminiscent of chemical burns. These also did not fully heal and left significant scars around both of his wrists. On November 1st, 155, Edgeworth awoke from an earthquake-induced stupor to find runes on his body. Details to be determined.
Monstrous Features
Eyes: The shape hasn’t changed, only the irises, which are now pale pink.
Nails: Grow longer, thicker, and more clawlike than human nails. He used to go to great lengths to keep them filed down, but after his fight to the death against Hiccup he decided he needed to utilize all of the defenses at his disposal.
Ears: Once elfin, as of Christmas, 155 (2015) Edgeworth's ears have become extremely large and resemble the ears of a California Pallid Bat.
Skin: Edgeworth was already fair-skinned before his transformation. Now he’s unnaturally pale, as if deprived of the sun for too long. His body is also colder, generally room temperature though it may warm for a short while after he feeds on fresh blood.
Fangs: Edgeworth’s upper lateral incisors and canines were forced out during his transformation, making way for two new pairs of fangs. His new teeth are retractable to some degree, though their default length is still too long to be mistaken for a human’s teeth on close inspection. When fully extended, the canines are considerably longer than the lateral incisors.
Monstrous Abilities
Heightened Senses: Stronger senses than a normal human. Edgeworth’s senses are particularly attuned to blood; when he gets hungry enough, he can even hear the pulses of people around him.
Animal Form: After his death, Edgeworth discovered he could take on a new form, that of a bat--a large California Pallid Bat, to be precise. In this form he can fly (once he learns how) and is indistinguishable from any ordinary bat, allowing him to disguise himself or escape some situations more easily. In return, he sacrifices much of his strength and becomes more vulnerable than in his vampire form. He discovered this ability by accident and initially had a difficult time reversing the change. It will take a bit more trial and error before he’s able to change easily at will.
Superhuman Strength: As with all of the monsters of Ryslig, Edgeworth’s strength is now equal to that of five normal humans. His combat ability, however, is still next-to-none, making him rather ineffectual when facing off against other monsters or more than a few well-trained humans.
Superhuman Speed: Edgeworth is capable of moving with incredible speed, to the point that his movement can be seen only as a blur.
TBD
Weaknesses
Sunlight: Will burn his skin on contact. Edgeworth can only go out in the daytime if he’s completely covered. Typically he will be seen wearing sunglasses, formal, white cotton gloves, and carrying a black parasol.
Silver: Will burn his skin on contact. Can cause severe injury or death if used as a weapon.
Hunger: Edgeworth can still eat the foods he once enjoyed, but only blood will provide enough nutrition to sustain him. Additionally, he must feed from a living source on a regular basis or risk succumbing to an overpowering bloodlust. The longer he tries to resist his hunger, the more it will take a toll on him. He will grow weaker and his form will become desiccated, until he starts to resemble the walking corpse that he is.
Current Status
Employment: Edgeworth has moved on from his duties as an unofficial paralegal for a lawyer in Vandare. After studying for months he was able to obtain a license and then a job as a prosecutor for the city of Bavan. He feels partially responsible for all of the carnage that the monsters have wreaked on Ryslig and protecting the citizens by prosecuting criminals is one of the only ways to help that he knows.
Housing: Edgeworth rents a small, two bedroom apartment in Bavan. It’s nothing special, but it’s newer and in slightly better shape than his place in Vandare was. Currently he shares this apartment with Phoenix Wright and Ema Skye. The guest bathroom is always well stocked with first aid supplies.
