[RL 51: Totally didn't steal this scene from Pretty Woman; Edgeworth, the Corinthian]
((OOC: Following shortly after this post, which references this post and this post.))
[On a Monday evening, it might not have been too difficult to find street parking, but that doesn't deter Edgeworth from pulling into underground parking, more specifically the structure off Dayton Way that he often uses. It doesn't take long for him to pass the Porsche off to the valet. He gives the elevator up to street level an almost guilty glance as he leads his companion past it, heading toward the stairwell a short distance away.]
[With a nonchalance that's only partially forced] Have you been to Beverly Hills before?

[And here we are heading up the significantly less posh (though clean and brightly lit) stairwell. Just one floor up, Edgeworth swings open the door leading off the well, revealing a glittering walk that's every bit as glamorous as countless movies and television shows would have people believe.]
[Turns and gives the Corinthian a satisfied smirk.] Case in point.

And they were going to spend the whole visit in a store. Bah.] Not bad.

[He begins to lead the way up the street, his feet tracing a comfortably familiar path past glowing, columned storefronts and ornate iron lampposts. This late in the evening, the crowds are already starting to thin, allowing him to keep looking back as they walked.] This is one of the few places left in the world where 'you get what you pay for' isn't simply a pithy throwback.

[pauses at a corner to survey the street in both directions.] I somehow doubt the selection at my usual place would suit you and there's no time left for a custom order. But there are several other trustworthy shops here... Ah. This way. [he suddenly seems to zero in on one, and with a nod he starts off down the street with a determined stride.]

He raises a brow.] We are just grabbing the first one we find and getting out, right?

So he just keeps following, looking disgruntled as anything.
This was going to be a long, long night.]

[Edgeworth nods to himself.] If it's any consolation, after this I shouldn't need to drag you to any other shops. They'll have everything you might need here.

Hard as he tried not to, he couldn't quite help a tiny grimace from briefly crossing his face as he eyed some of the clothing. He didn't really need information on the kid and all his little buddies that badly, did he?] Right. Fine, I'll go find something, just give me a minute.

[Edgeworth responds with a nod and gestures to the Corinthian. His tone is all business.]Andre. My associate and I will be attending an event later this week—a product unveiling and after party. As you may guess, he's in rather desperate need of something suitable.
[He softens the remark with a gentle, teasing smirk at the Corinthian, while the salesman looks him over with an appraising eye.]

We're getting the first one he approves of and then we're out of here. [Another look, one that's rather hoping it'll even be the first one period.]

[He shoots the prosecutor a questioning look, clearly trying to gauge something for himself, but almost as soon as the confusion appears it's gone again, and he waves the Corinthian into the store.] We'll start with the basics then, Mr...
[Throughout it all Edgeworth looks on, a self-satisfied smirk still on his lips as he observes the exchange. This isn't a situation he may ever see the Corinthian in again, and he's intent on milking it for all it's worth.]

[Finally taking pity on his companion, Edgeworth looked up from one of the suits, whose sleeve he'd been fingering.] Something non-traditional, I think. Black or...no, midnight blue.
[The salesman gave a quick nod and started to lead the Corinthian a bit deeper into the forest of models while Edgeworth hung back.] These are some of our newer stock. Armani's fall collection, especially, has a few gems... Do you see anything you like?

I.... [Ngh. He does, however, at least give several suits a cursory glance as they walk. And after several moments he finally grabs one at random, a nice dark shade of blue just as Edgeworth suggested, and turns to hold it up for his companion to see.]
Tell me this is good so we can get the hell out of here now?

[He pointed out the other suits in turn, then threw a smug smirk in the nightmare's direction.] ...And anything else you might suggest, Andre.
Très bonne! [The salesman nodded and began to lead them toward the back of the store. Edgeworth slipped the suit out of his friend's hand as he passed him by, placing it back on the display, then followed Andre to the fitting room in the back of the store.]

And yet he still followed along obediantly, catching up to Edgeworth's side again, and gave the man a dark look.]
You're having way too much fun with this.
