It could prove to be an excellent opportunity for you to gather information, and in return you may alleviate some measure of my boredom over the whole affair.

No, it was someone who's much more difficult to deny. Are you sold yet? Or will I need to paint for you a compelling picture of the intense boredom you'd be leaving me to face alone if you won't join me?

Not that I don't appreciate you wanting to spend more time with me, but I'm pretty sure if you really needed someone there you could find someone considerably more entertaining than I am.

But I guess this might be worth looking into. What kind of event is it?

You sell yourself short, Corinthian. I wouldn't have come to you if I hadn't been entirely certain that you could provide me with the entertainment I so desperately need.

Product unveiling of some sort. Undoubtedly it will be attended by a number of influential people intent on making clear to everyone else just how influential they are. If nothing else, I think we can expect some fine refreshments and, of course, our own pleasant company.

Excellent. Now the event will be black tie, of course. We should be able to pass off the sunglasses with a bit of creativity, but I'm afraid the leather and denim would draw far more attention than we need, assuming it even gets you in the door. Since I extended the invitation, if you don't have anything suitable I can easily provide something for you.
