[RL 44: We can has make-up sex nao?][Backdated]
((OOC: Taking place during the lawyer/nightmare schmoopytiems virus, just after an awkward encounter between Cori, Edgeworth, and Phoenix which we didn't get around to doing yet. orz))
The awkwardness of their unexpected encounter had tainted much of their meal. The walk back to the apartment was spent mostly in silence. While the situation did improve over the course of the evening, it was only after the soothing intervention of Sieghard (who was, as always, happy to see his master home), and the judicious use of a very well-made film (which, to Edgeworth's surprise, wasn't remotely banal and didn't rely solely on uninspired gore or schlocky gimmicks).
The last lines of the movie's credits eventually rolled off screen. Edgeworth allowed the player to run a few more seconds before turning it off, muting the television, and turning to regard his companion. The light and colors of the flickering screen were reflecting off the Corinthian's sunglasses in the dim light, drawing his eyes for a moment.
Finally, he dropped his gaze, feigning disinterest as he reached to scratch Sigi behind the ears. "You do know this is by no means a permanent free pass?"

/belatedly ninja tags and flees again! DX
"Apologizing before didn't help, then?" When he was still positive that he shouldn't have had to any such thing, he mentally added in. There was a pause, for some moments. Then he sighed almost irritably. "....yeah, I know."
/misses you terribly ;3;/
He held his companion's gaze for a moment longer, then turned his attention back to petting Sigi.
"But since a guilty conscience seems to have prompted you to bring it up again...an apology only helps if the behavior isn't repeated," he continued, pragmatically. "As long as that remains the case, we can consider the matter closed."
/missed you too! ;3;/ ....a;sjdcnsadkjcn and that was total reading fail on my part, I'm sorry x_x
....oh. Well....damn. The matter was already awkward enough without bringing it up like that.
"Ah, right." He had to bite his tongue to keep from saying anything else on the subject, despite how badly he wanted to now that he'd gone and brought it up. Thankfully, after a moment he managed to shrug and lean back again instead.
"Though I think proving I have better taste in movies than you give me credit for should count for a little more than just one free pass."
<333! Don't be, it wasn't all that clear and misunderstandings happen in rl too. Added realism! 8D
"I said it wasn't a permanent pass, I didn't specify yet how much leeway you'd earned," he said, and he leaned back languidly against the cushions, marginally more relaxed than he'd been all evening. "And perhaps I won't. You're less likely to subject me to the chaff of your collection if you have no idea how many times you'll be allowed to get away with it."
You know, this is true! XD; also. I may have made at least one icon like I said.
And only until Edgeworth spoke again.
"You're starting to sound like the damn librarian...." From his expression, that was a rather horrifying thought. "The others weren't even that bad. We just need to find a way to make you stop cringing at gore, pointless, badly done, or otherwise."
jnvosidnbgwsogrn t-that's a nice icon. *A*
"I don't cringe from gore. At least not any more than I cringe from any other painfully uninteresting drivel."
I hate drawing on the computer, but that one actually came out alright! XD;;;
It came out beautifully and I love it~
"Corinthian, my life's work involves assisting in crime scene investigations and poring over autopsy photos. I am not squeamish."
as;kjdcsd thankyou :>
:> <3333
Edgeworth paused, regarding his companion almost thoughtfully for a moment. "Even the work that you do is a pale reflection of what men are really capable of."
<33333~!
"That is true....all I do is mirror what they do." And some of the things he had seen them do to each other in just these few short years....even he had to admit that he was impressed. The human imagination always had fascinated him.... "Never anything more."

"...I do. Perhaps better than most. But the point remains. What we take from dreams, like what we take from movies, is only as tangible as our minds make it. Our world doesn't allow for anything more than that."
....and I swear I will stop flaking on this now, I'm so sorry.
No worries, bb! I've been running around all weekend, I'm not really here either. XD;;
He finally met his companion's gaze again with an indecipherable look. "I've seen enough horrors in both venues to ensure that those cinematic penny dreadfuls offend only my tastes, not my sensibilities."
