I suppose I should simply accept that you're just bizarre, then, and that it's amazing that you have any friends at all, given how arrogantly self-centred you are.

There's a large difference between seeing me talking to people over the internet, and experiencing me in person. And believe me, I gave up long ago ever winning acceptance from you, Edgeworth. I suppose I'll just have to content myself with continuing to irritate you from afar and becoming closer than you'd like to your best friend.

Not to mention how high my standards are regarding who I choose to associate with. When you consider that I never sought out the relationships I have acquired, it borders on the miraculous, doesn't it?

Perhaps, but when you're entirely truthful with the aspects I find objectionable, it doesn't matter what venue you display them in. Then do so, if knowing you're an irritant in someone's eyes is what you need to satisfy you. But I believe you may have overestimated how much of an irritant you actually are.

I suppose since you find things that have nothing to do with my present actions objectionable, that might be true.

And I'll become Phoenix's friend regardless of what you think. The fact that I'll be irritating you is merely a bonus. And I refuse to believe that I'm overestimating how irritating I am - after all, you can't possibly enjoy knowing that Phoenix went to dinner with a murderer, and will do so again.

I won't pretend that I approve, but it isn't the first time he's entertained a murderer, and I'm sure it won't be the last. Who Wright associates with is his own business, and his mistakes are his to make.

How poetic. I'm afraid my heart is neither as cold nor as black as many seem to assume. If it were, it's likely my life would have been considerably easier.
