56: [Locked to Ten, Hyacinth, Jordan; Back-dated] A Request
I have a delivery that needs to be made. Payment, as always, is negotiable. Would any of you be available?
((OOC: Backdated to 9-12-08.))

Well, I've got no need for payment, but I've always got time. I must admit, you've got me curious now, though.

Are you acquainted with David Webb?
[Locked]
Not personally, no. Friend of yours?
((OOC: Because lawl he's probably read the books.))
[Locked]
No. Merely an...acquaintance.
((OOC: Lol Ten. XD))
[Locked]
Ah. Yeah, of course.
[Locked]
Your aid is appreciated, Doctor.

...I don't know what Edgeworth got him yet. ;o; I swear they've talked about books before but I can't find the threads. Do you remember any of those conversations?
OOC
...All I can find is that Bourne recommended The Bridge of San Luis Rey. :/
OOC
Also OMG you're okay, right? D: I didn't know you lived near the hurricane sites.
OOC
I don't, really. We're in Ohio. We somehow got the remains of Ike passing through today, winds getting up to 75 mph, I think. But I'm completely fine! Our neighborhood didn't really get hit.
Though work ended early on account of power outage.OOC
And I need to go study for my Adjuster's Licensing test tomorrow (YAY cramming at 11p!) so I probably won't figure out what book he got him yet but I'LL TELL YOU AS SOON AS I KNOW OMG.
Whoa, that's a long way from the sites to still be hit. O_O Yay for early work day though, whoo! That happened to me during the ice storm that hit Memphis in...99? Trees fallen, massive limbs landing on cars and houses, power lines snapped by the weight of the ice, etc. Some parts of the city were without power for a month, and it took our Blockbuster a week to get power back; I spent half a shift there the first day, just chilling with my boss, the store closed and no one able to even get their tapes or DVDs out of their players to bring them back in. It was pretty awesome.
OOC
I'LL WAIT FOR YOU, DEAR. Good luck with the test~!
I know. O_o And it got here so fast!
Oh, I remember hearing about that...That must have been awful. The amount of time without power, I mean.
It's been an odd day.
OOC
Thank you! If I pass I'll be a fully licensed insurance adjuster in the state of California! And since the California test is the hardest adjuster test in the country, most states will allow me to file for my license without actually testing. :Db Not that I'd do that, because I'm lazy, but my company will do that for me and pay all my fees. 'S awesome. If I can just pass... >_>;;;
:O It must have been trippy to get any fallout from so far away. Glad it wasn't any worse! When did your power come back on? Or did your home power not go out?
It wasn't too terrible. My grandmother had power so I think we stayed with her until our power came back on, which was about three days later, iirc. Aside from a few instances of nearly slipping on ice and busting our asses, and the poor trees in my grandma's back yard getting killed, it was kind of exciting. :D And I worked some customer-free hours during the week when my boss brought in a generator just so we could check in and run the hundreds of movies that built up in the drop box. ...The customers bringing back movies months late and telling us 'It was the ice storm!' got rather frustrating though. :|
OOC
I'm sure you can pass!
And then rule the insurance world!Seriously. It seems that it was actually the strength of a category 1 hurricane. In Ohio. Wth.
We were insanely lucky, we only got a few very short power outages. If the paper is to be believed, 90% of the city did not fare as well as us.
Customer free hours are always fun!
(You can get online during them. >.>)
...Did they honestly think you guys couldn't check that? Geez.
OOC
...I failed. Possibly by two questions. lol.
...WOW. Just...wow. O_O I'm SO glad to hear you were so lucky, then, though that's unfortunate about, well...everyone else. ^_^;;;
Not if you're on one of Blockbuster's crappy prehistoric computers. :( The worst part was we ending up accepting them anyway and writing off the late fees, cause we couldn't really PROVE it. Pissed me off to no end. -_-;;;
Re: OOC
AND I'M GLAD YOU'RE OKAY. *GLOMP*
OOC
*HUGS* I'M SORRY TO WORRY YOU.
Re: OOC
IT'S OKAY. I'M SURE YOU'LL MAKE IT UP TO ME SOMEHOW.
