I am in Europe, and will be visiting various countries for the foreseeable future. My journaling is likely to be less frequent, as I'll be devoting more time to my current work.

Initially you told him no more about your history than you told me. Likely that's not the only secret you're keeping.

Undoubtedly you have. And if you've shared all of your secrets with him since, I'll formally apologize for my doubt. Either way, full disclosure on your part doesn't entitle you to information he's not willing or able to give.

And that doesn't mean he shouldn't talk to me. What would be so terrible about mentioning that you were going to be leaving?

Nothing. The problem isn't in what he might tell you. It's in the expectation that information is owed to you.

I think if I moved he might want me to mention it to him.

Wright wasn't the one who moved. The news wasn't his to tell.

If there was anyone else on my planet that he knew I'd use them as an example. It's not my fault he doesn't know anyone.

My contact with everyone here is online. My location is of no concern to anyone.

That's a melodramatic and wholly inaccurate summation of the situation. No one will be visiting me, therefore no one needs to know where I am.

But if you aren't hiding it shouldn't really matter if people know you're traveling around.

It matters when I'm not interested in any unexpected visits. I'm here to work, not socialize.

He wasn't requesting an explanation; he was wondering why I hadn't said anything about it. Maybe he made a mistake in asking you a question that should have been posed to me, but was it necessary to bring all that up?

Not necessary, perhaps, but not wrong, either.

This isn't the only example of his expectations. You allow him a lot of leeway.
