OOC: Relationship Meme
Kinda pointless seeing as Edgeworth HAS NO ONE AND NEEDS NO RELATIONSHIPS YOU GUYS, SERIOUSLY, but go ahead and comment with your characters and I'll let you know what Edgey REALLY thinks of them. ...I promise to try to actually answer ALL of them this time... [shifty eyes] Will be replying later when I get home from the evil, evil MINI dealership.

Phoenix: Feenie's obviously the most complex relationship he has with anyone, not just on DDD but in his life. Despite the fact that he's fought against Phoenix's support the entire way, Phoenix's persistence has paid off and now (as evidenced by his confession during their Freud Virus-interrupted lunch) he's come to depend on Phoenix's opinions, his support, and his trust. He realizes he doesn't want to lose that (and in fact isn't sure how well he'd be able to handle the loss) and this fact worries him immensely. He doesn't want to be dependent on anyone, because his history and the years of his youth have him believing it leaves him vulnerable; but a part of him longs for the kind of friendship and companionship he knew as a child. That part is just drowned out by the rather insistent, loud, terrified part that's been screwed over one-too-many times. While he tries to ignore it, though, he's begun to worry he's far too dependent on Phoenix...
Another recent development in their relationship is, obviously, his growing attraction for his friend. The determination and passion that angered him so much during their 'first' meeting years ago is endearing Phoenix to him more and more. He's starting to notice Phoenix's uniquely attractive presence, despite Phoenix not being 'his type.' But while the things that he really finds the most appealing about Phoenix are personality traits, he's still clinging stubbornly to his assertion that the feelings he's developing are purely physical in nature, and he feels guilty over disrespecting what they have by objectifying Phoenix that way.
Larry: Edgeworth has mixed feelings for Larry. Like Phoenix, Larry is a connection to his childhood, a painful reminder of how good his life used to be. Unlike Phoenix, though, Larry hasn't really involved himself in Edgeworth's current life. He helped during Edgeworth's trial, for which Edgeworth is grateful, but they were never as close as Phoenix and Miles were, and he has always known Larry as a troublemaker and nuisance at worst, and a sometimes well-meaning idiot at best. XD He also finds his constant obsession with love to be idiocy of the highest order, especially given Larry's record.
Now Edgeworth simply trusts Larry to act like Larrry. He thinks Larry's too stupid to screw things up out of malice, but Edgeworth still expects him to screw things up if given the chance, so Edgeworth makes it a point not to give him that chance. There was also always an element of competitiveness between them over Phoenix's attention, but since the trio was reunited it hasn't really manifested itself (yet) as Phoenix and Larry haven't been demonstrably close around Edgeworth at this point.
In spite of what Edgeworth sees as Larry's numerous flaws, some tiny, TINY part of him still sees Larry fondly.

Bourne: Out of everyone Edgeworth has met through DDD, Bourne has to be the one he's allowed to get the closest. Their situations, histories, and personalities are similar enough that he finds Bourne easy to talk to, even when Bourne's not talkative, and Bourne has given him really good advice and a lot of understanding. He also gets one thing from Bourne that he'll never get from his other confidante, Phoenix: the perspective of someone who's actually been there. Bourne offers what knowledge he has, rarely pushes Edgeworth, doesn't talk any more than necessary... It's easy to see why Edgeworth had begun to trust Bourne, inasmuch as Edgeworth can trust anyone.
All of this also means that finding out about Bourne's past is wreaking havoc on Edgeworth's convictions and his own opinions on justice. Between Bourne and Maraich, Edgeworth's currently struggling immensely with his own guilt over the 'murders' he holds responsibility for and his own beliefs on justice, redemption, and forgiveness. For Edgeworth this is a difficult struggle; he's the kind of person that needs to feel he has all the answers, and that he doesn't know how to handle this is frustrating him. The situation also made obvious just how much he and Bourne actually have in common, and that the advice was so fitting because Bourne has been there. He still sees Bourne as highly intelligent (more so now that he knows where Bourne's training comes from), sensible, and must admit that Bourne's goals for redemption are noble, but he doesn't want to believe it's enough.
At this point he's mostly avoiding contact with both Bourne and Maraich, still uncertain over whether he'll be able to accept what he's learned about them, and surprised that he even wants to.
Wilson: ...hasn't talked to Edgeworth much lately, and vice versa. This should be rectified, ja? ;) Anyway, from the interactions they've had so far Edgeworth thinks Wilson's an intelligent man and also a good conversationalist. He likes Wilson's wit, and yes, being a friend of Cuddy's also speaks in Wilson's favor. Basically...wow, Edgeworth feels exactly the same way about Wilson that Wilson does about him. Trippy. :O
Lyra: Another one he needs to interact with more! From the little interaction they've had he thinks Lyra's rather precocious but excitable, and he thinks she needs to learn how to hold her tongue and when to pick her battles. XD
Orlando: ...Edgeworth really doesn't know him at all. LOL. XD

Bourne and I are so honored. :D
And I just need to get Wilson and Lyra out more in the first place.

Bourne is a good influence on Edgey. Boy needs to get over his hangups so they can talk again. -_-;;;
You do!! Yes! Especially Wilson! <3

I don't know why I'm doing Apollo, but RAR. >:D

After the Freud Virus, though, there's no telling if he'll accept Apollo's presence anymore. He's extremely mistrustful of Apollo now. Eventually they might be able to converse civilly, but he's not going to be friendly to Apollo or let him pet close unless given a very good reason to do so. Edgeworth felt betrayed by Apollo's actions, and betrayal is one thing he finds almost impossible to forgive as he was 'betrayed' by the only two people he ever allowed to get too close.
Also, Apollo better hope that Edgeworth never finds out what he said about Al being his 'thing'...
