39: A small test...

Certain upcoming plans have reminded me that I have yet to post this. I saw it on blutendimpulsge's journal some time ago, but neglected to do it myself. The following are quotes from some of my favorite films. The goal, of course, is to figure out which films. Correct answers will be rewarded with a measure of respect for your obviously excellent taste in movies. It should go without saying, but I'm sure there's a need to say it anyway; refrain from looking up the answers on the internet.

#7 is Indiana Jones and #15 is Christmas Vacation. And since you enjoyed that one so much, might I also recommend Vacation and Vegas Vacation?

Also, this is just a guess based on the dialogue, but is #5 from Murder on the Orient Express?

I think the mistake lies in listing Christmas Vacation as one of your favorites in the first place. I was under the impression that you hadn't really enjoyed it.

It's hardly so dramatic, Wright.

It's so overblown in its stupidity that it has a certain charm. It simply took me two viewings to see it. Or should I say one and a half viewings. It being in the list was partially for your benefit. I worried the rest might be too difficult for you.

By the way, I still have your DVD.

You obviously underestimated me. You should probably stop doing that. One's heart can take only so many surprises, or so I've heard.

Actually, why not kill two birds with one stone? I could stop by, pick up my DVD, and smack you over the head with it before I leave.

That would definitely be more efficient. Still, it's very selfless of you to go to so much trouble. I couldn't possibly ask that of you.

Though, he might not be familiar with the concept of knocking some sense into someone.

I think six is from The Maltese Falcon, isn't it? That's the only one I recognize. Don't actually watch a lot of movies.

Hm. It appears many of these films have multi-universal origins. Or did you see that one through our world?

I think that may be because some worlds are so similar; especially the Earths. I do remember seeing it when it first came out, though.

The similarities are still surprising, but I'm beginning to see their benefits. This weekend I'll be viewing a film on opening day that I originally hadn't seen until many years after its release.
