They were. I believed...they wouldn't have been at the defendant's stand if they weren't guilty of something. An assumption not only antithetical to the basis of our legal system, but horribly naive as well.

You're going to hate me for saying this, but I worry about you. You say you don't torment yourself over your past, and maybe you don't do it consciously, but I watch you and I listen to the things you say. You're punishing yourself, Edgeworth.

I certainly didn't choose to put myself under that effect.

I wasn't saying you did, but you thought you deserved it, didn't you?

Not only that, your workload is enormous. What you do is important and I'll never fault you for that, but you're up at all hours of the night, insistent on working even when you're sick, and I can't help thinking the explanation isn't as simple as being a workaholic.

What I do is important; to me, and to the people that depend on me being able to do my job. I never take on more than I can handle, but I will do what is needed to assure the job is done to the fullest of my abilities. My career is...more than a simple job to me. That is why I devote myself to it as I do.

As for the truth virus, I...merely found it ironic.
