I seem to have developed a...ghost problem.

Well, I don't know how this would relate unless you're repressing the memory of poisoning someone, but I did a search of "almond ammonia scent" and came up with this.

Hydrogen cyanide, for example, may be noticed as a sweet almond scent at levels far below that associated with adverse health effects.

I'll be honest. My internet proficiency isn't anything spectacular, so someone with a little more skill might be able to find more information. But maybe that's a start?

Hydro... Winner spoke of hydrogen cyanide. The nught I fell, when I was...not in control of myseklf. I read the comments to that entry but dismissed his. His responses seemed as ridicylous as mine.

I noticed that... The way he was acting, I mean. I didn't realize he was talking about hydrogen cyanide.

What do you think it means?

The most onvious answer would be that hydrogen cyanide was the cause of our John Doe's death. As I'm fairly certain I'm not repressig any other memories of killing anyone he must have another reason to begrudge me my life.

Used for? Apparently it is found in cigarettes and poisons, in the manufscture of certain goods and chemical products, dyeing, tempering steel...

Capital punishment is apparently one of the less common uses of hydrogen cyanide. I'm...rather disappointed with myself. It should not have taken me this long to reach such an...obvious conclusion.

How is that obvious? You were smelling almonds and ammonia. Unless you've been in a gas chamber, it hardly seems obvious.

I still don't understand, though.

It was the most obvious place to begin my research once I realized the level of complaint he held against me. How many other people would wish me dead? And how many of those might themselves have passed on since? It was quite foolish of me not to make the connection sooner.

I'm not following...

Wright, I put him away. I was the one to bring him to justice. He was a defendant in one of my trials. It's the only explanation.

... Oh. Oh geez. So... so he wants revenge for you putting him away...

It seems the only logical motive.

If he was as violent in life as he is now, it's a good thing he was removed from society. But now...

I do not know. Yet. Waiting and assuming the god will return and remove them would be a foolish option, but I have no experience to draw on to formulate a real plan.

...I will figure something out. Mikaela mentioned someone who claimed to be able to get rid of them. Perhaps I should contact her.

I think that would be a good idea. Probably the safest, too.
