If it hadn't been for Sigi's reaction, he might have entirely missed the knocking. The dog rose swiftly to his feet and padded out of the office, obviously eager to investigate something. When Edgeworth made it into the living room, Sigi's posture--rigid before the door, his gaze fixed firmly in the center of it--confirmed what he'd already guessed.

Edgeworth cast a lingering glance around the room, noting that everything was precisely where it belonged and wondering how long that might remain the case. After another moment's hesitation, he slipped into place between Sigi and the wall and swung open the door.
