Consider yourself currently out of my good graces. I went to work this morning only to be rebuffed. Apparently I'm too contagious to be around my co-workers. A disappointing waste of time and gasoline and energy.

At least I was able to bring more work home.

Getting sick in the first place was Cuddy's fault. So far I'm still half convinced it was a clever plot on her part.

Oh, the benefits of vaccines? You know, one benefit is that you avoid being ill altogether and therefore aren't left to be stubborn and argue with people who mean well.

I'll rest when my work is done. Otherwise I'll be coming back to another mountain of paperwork when I get back into the office. Coupled with my trials, that would hardly be conducive to my post-illness recovery.

...I avoided being ill for many years, and would probably have continued to do so if I hadn't visited her hospital.

Even if you hadn't gone to the hospital, there would still be a chance of becoming ill. Is this really a disguise for something else?

I can concentrate perfectly well. It's the flu, not ADD.

Why does no one believe that I'll be over this soon? I'm not exerting myself. It's only paperwork. There just happens to be a hellishly large amount of it that I need to take care of.

Visiting her hospital meant I was exposed to a wide variety and prevalence of germs, to a degree one generally doesn't have to deal with in other public places. As I've said, I haven't been vaccinated since I was a child and it's been a very long time since I fell ill.

That degree being that the bacteria and viruses are in a highly concentrated area that also happens to be sanitized. Otherwise, your risk of becoming ill is much greater outside of a hospital, unless you had direct contact with an ill patient.
