37: A tendency to overreact is not something I look for in a therapist.

Dr. Ellison appears to be unduly concerned. In spite of rather favorable results over the past months, he's seen fit to call on me multiple times in the past week. Often in the same day. At my office.

I might soon be in the market for a new therapist.

TL;DR. If you don't mind spoilers, Edgeworth's dad was murdered when they were trapped together in an elevator. Edgeworth was nine at the time, and thought for fifteen years that he'd shot his own father.

He was also being raised to be a heartless, almost completely unethical prosecutor by the guy who DID shoot his father, instead of the right-minded, extremely ethical defense attorney his father would have wanted him to be. :D ))

My father's death is at the root of it all. The episodes are all connected with and triggered by that event. My upbringing under Manfred von Karma was a direct result of that event. It was also the beginning of his impromptu plans.

We've discussed him as well, Ellison. In great detail. Yet you continue to dwell on our relationship. I've told you before, Wright saved me. He is my friend, and the only man I would claim as such. My prurient interest holds no bearing on that, and he's assured me nothing will change.

I suppose next you'll point out again how much he reminds me of my father. How very Freudian of you, doctor.

What is a therapy session, without a mention of Freud~?

Does it comfort you that nothing will change between you and Wright? Are you content to remain as you are, never exploring the possibilities of what could happen, even if they were for the better?

(Oh, he will not be happy at all! XD)

Wright's support means a great deal to me. He saved my life. He gave me back my purpose. His friendship is something I'd...rather not lose.

Ellison, despite what you and everyone else seem to think, there is no correlation between physical interest and emotional attachment. Not to my mind. Finding a man attractive does not equate to wanting more than a physical indulgence, if the interest even goes that far.

In this case, it does not go that far. Wright is attractive. There's nothing more to it.
